The Merchant Hotel - Case Study

The Merchant is Belfast’s most salubrious hotel. A wholly-independent, boutique hotel, it occupies one of Northern Ireland’s landmark buildings.

Paperjam became involved at the very earliest of planning stages and were charged with developing a Brand Identity that is fresh and forward-looking, while remaining sympathetic to the incredible 1860 sandstone building that houses the hotel.

Paperjam now manage the delivery and production of all graphic design requirements across dining, bar, accommodation, corporate and events. We also went the extra mile, developing a brand-new typeface, Début, based on the frieze and columns of the building, and used solely for promotional items pertaining to The Merchant.

To date, Paperjam have completed over 300 jobs for The Merchant Hotel. These have ranged from large-scale projects such as the Branding exercise and marketing brochure to small, in-house posters.
