an inspirational weekend

Paperjam Presents: Beautiful Losers & Ivory Serra, a postscript.

We'd like to thank everyone who made it down to the opening gambit of Paperjam Presents. After a lot of hard work by Andy over the past few months, it was amazing to watch as everything clicked into place.

On Friday 3rd April, as part of the Belfast Film Festival, we screened the film Beautiful Losers to a sold-out audience. This was preceded by an emotionally charged screening of the film 33 seagulls by local director Michael MacBroom. Beautiful Losers was introduced by the director, Aaron Rose who had kindly flown-in between commitments in Los Angeles and Berlin. The film was an inspirational piece of work, defining the importance of both independent creative thinking and partnership with like-minded individuals. It was an honour for Paperjam Design to present the Ireland Premier just around the corner from our office in Waring Street.

Saturday's Exhibition of Ivory Serra's work in Skullduggery Tatu was the perfect accompaniment to Beautiful Losers. A packed tattoo parlour had been converted overnight into a superb exhibition venue for a peerless view of the artists behind Beautiful Losers and the culture of skateboarding that goes hand-in-hand. Serra was the perfect host, engaging the packed audience in conversation throughout the night.
